Alley Theatre Presents First Affinity Series Symposium with the World Premiere of Gruesome Playground Injuries
HOUSTON, TX -As part of the recently launched New Play Initiative, the Alley Theatre will present an Affinity Series Symposium for each world premiere this season featuring the playwright and dramaturg to discuss the genesis of the play, the Alley Theatre rehearsal process, and the larger societal issues raised by the play. The first Affinity Series Symposium will occur in conjunction with the world premiere of Rajiv Joseph's Gruesome Playground Injuries on Saturday, October 24th, immediately following the 2:30 PM performance.

This Tony Award winning production with music and lyrics by Jonathan Larson is based on Puccini’s opera “La Bohème.†The plot involves an assemblage of impoverished young artists and musicians struggling to survive and create in New York’s Lower East Side.
